Day 1

Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

On arrival we will make our way directly to the spectacular Lake Manyara National Park, considered one of Tanzania's most captivating parks. A large part of the park is dominated by Lake Manyara, a shallow alkaline lake that attracts a diverse array of wildlife and bird species. Here, you'll be able to see thousands of flamingos elegantly lining the shores, creating a vivid and stunning scene.

Lake Manyara is often called a birdwatcher's paradise, home to over 500 species of both resident and migratory birds. As we explore the park, keep an eye out for elephants, buffaloes roaming the woodlands, and the iconic giraffes that roam the acacia-filled plains. The park is also known for its famous tree-climbing lions, as well as warthogs, impalas, gazelles, Klipspringers, and both lesser and greater flamingos along the lake’s edge.

Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we’ll head out for an exciting early morning game drive in Serengeti National Park. The name "Serengeti" is derived from the Maasai word for "endless plain," which perfectly captures the vastness of this incredible park, covering around 14,763 square kilometers—larger than the state of Connecticut!

Serengeti is famous for being home to all of the Big Five: lions, leopards, buffalo, elephants, and the critically endangered black rhino. Along the way, you'll also spot a variety of predators such as hyenas, wild dogs, and cheetahs as they roam the lush savannah, hunting for prey like zebras, elands, and antelopes. Keep an eye out for giraffes gracefully reaching the acacia trees, while crocodiles bask along the Grumeti and Mara rivers and hippos relax in the nearby waters.
