Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After a brief morning orientation, you'll set off toward Tarangire National Park. This park, characterized by its savannah, majestic baobab trees, seasonal swamps, and lagoons, is famous for its large elephant herds. Wildlife gathers around the vital Tarangire River, and you can expect to see a variety of mammals, including giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, along with the unusual gerenuk and fringe-eared oryx. The park is also home to buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests, often trailed by predators like lions. While leopards are occasionally spotted, cheetahs are rare. From the open roof of your safari vehicle, you’ll have a perfect vantage point to take in the landscape and observe the wildlife. In the late afternoon, you’ll arrive at your lodge.

Along the way, you'll make a brief stop at the Ngorongoro Crater gate and viewpoint to take in the breathtaking scenery. Next, you have the option to visit a Maasai village, where you can immerse yourself in the rich culture of the Maasai tribe. Known for their historic practices like lion hunting and drinking raw animal blood, the Maasai offer a unique cultural experience. Though many of these traditions are now in the past, you can still learn a great deal about their way of life (this visit is optional and not included in the tour price; entrance fees range from $10 to $20).

You will arrive in the Serengeti in the late afternoon and begin a game drive in the Seronera area, the heart of the Serengeti. As you explore, you'll witness a stunning sunset while observing wildlife, and with some luck, you might even see a predator in action.
