After a brief morning orientation, you'll set off toward Tarangire National Park. This park, characterized by its savannah, majestic baobab trees, seasonal swamps, and lagoons, is famous for its large elephant herds. Wildlife gathers around the vital Tarangire River, and you can expect to see a variety of mammals, including giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, along with the unusual gerenuk and fringe-eared oryx. The park is also home to buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests, often trailed by predators like lions. While leopards are occasionally spotted, cheetahs are rare. From the open roof of your safari vehicle, you’ll have a perfect vantage point to take in the landscape and observe the wildlife. In the late afternoon, you’ll arrive at your lodge.
