Traverse the alpine desert from an elevation of 3,720 meters to 4,703 meters over a 10 km trek, which takes approximately 6 to 8 hours. This journey takes you across the expansive saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks, offering stark, otherworldly landscapes. Upon reaching Kibo Hut, you'll settle in for a much-needed rest and finalize preparations for your upcoming summit attempt.

The 6 km ascent typically takes 6 to 8 hours, rewarding you with breathtaking sunrise views at the peak. After celebrating your achievement, descend 15 km to Horombo Hut, dropping to an elevation of 3,720 meters. The descent takes about 3 to 5 hours, where you can rest and reflect on your incredible journey.

Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate and Departure

Upon reaching Marangu Gate, you'll be awarded your well-deserved summit certificate. Afterward, a comfortable transfer awaits to take you back to Moshi or Arusha, where you can unwind and celebrate your achievement.
