After breakfast, we will drive to Masai Mara National Reserve. You will get to Masai Mara in time for a hot lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive. This is one of Kenya’s most popular and beautiful game reserves. It’s at an altitude of 1,650 meters (5,414 feet) and covers 1,510 square kilometers (about 600 square miles), extending north from Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park. Maasai Mara full-Day
Today, we will spend the whole day on a game drive in the Masai Mara with a picnic lunch provided. The reserve is home to the "Big Five"—lion, leopard, African elephant, Cape buffalo, and black rhinoceros. Black rhino numbers fell a lot due to poaching in the 1970s and 1980s but have slowly increased since then, with about 23 rhinos counted in 1999. You can also see large groups of hippos and crocodiles in the Mara and Talek Rivers. Leopards, hyenas, cheetahs, jackals, and bat-eared foxes are also around. From July to October, the Great Migration happens, with around 1,300,000 wildebeest, 500,000 Thomson’s gazelles, 97,000 topi, 18,000 elands, and 200,000 zebras moving north from the Serengeti in search of fresh grass. Enjoy dinner and stay overnight at your accommodation.
