Day 1

You will be picked up from the airport and conveyed to your accommodation in Arusha where you will overnight, relax, and prepare in anticipation of the adventures to come. Arusha Planet Lodge which is nestled in the heart of Arusha, will captivate you with the natural beauty of the Tanzanian landscape awaiting your safari adventure.

Day 2

Arusha - Tarangire National Park

Arusha - Tarangire National Park

In the morning, you will be picked up from your lodgings in Arusha by our personal safari guide. You'll set out for Tarangire National Park on a good tarmac road across gently rolling Maasai plains with scattered acacia trees. As you zip along you'll pass many Maasais in their colorful dresses walking on the roadside, riding bicycles, herding cattle, and driving donkey carts. Tarangire, well known for its large elephant herds, is also host to a multitude of other creatures. From the open roof of our state-of-the-art safari jeep, you'll experience the seasonal swamps, savannah, and life-giving Tarangire River. Endeavor to encounter a multitude of creatures, from zebras to wildebeest, buffalos, elephants, and giraffes, to name a few. You may see lions stalking prey or leopards watching, relaxing in the trees above.
After your extensive game drive experiencing the varied sights and sounds of the wilderness, we will drive you to your accommodation for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 3

Karatu - Ndutu

Karatu - Ndutu

After breakfast, you will leave Karatu and enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will proceed crossing Ngorongoro Highlands to Ndutu Area. Here, you'll start the game drive for this day with special attention to the great migration.
The great migration herds aggregate close to the Lake Ndutu area between Serengeti and Ngorongoro from December to April, here they find fresh food and big predators waiting for them. From January, it is the beginning of the calving season for wildebeests.

Day 4

Ndutu - Ngorongoro Highlands

Ndutu - Ngorongoro Highlands

Early in the morning after breakfast, you will enjoy the last game drive in the Ndutu Area. Late in the afternoon, you will proceed to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was formed millions of years ago with the massive explosion of a volcano once higher than Kilimanjaro is 610m deep and covers roughly 304sq km. It has a dense animal population of approximately 25,000 ungulates. After a final game drive in Ndutu, you will drive to your accommodation at the crater rim for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 5

Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha

Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha

After breakfast, you will descend inside Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive with a picnic lunch. Ngorongoro Crater is a must-see while on safari in Tanzania for its high density of wild animals. You will be able to see wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants, and perhaps if we are lucky, black rhinos through the grass. In the afternoon, you will drive back to Arusha.
