2 travelers on Start dateDar Es salaam - Selous/Nyerere NP
Departure from Dar es Salaam hotel, airport or seaport is at 8 o'clock. The trip to the Selous/Nyerere National Park takes about 4 hours and follows Kisarawe Road to the south. After about 2 hours, head west along a rough road to the Rufiji River. Arrive at the camp for lunch. After lunch at the camp, board the boat and discover the Rufiji River. Coloured birds, such as the kingfisher or bee-eater, frolic in large groups on the banks of the Rufiji in search of food. Hippopotamus families keep cool in the water. Crocodiles avoid the hippos and stay well hidden. They prefer to bask on the shore. Round off the day with a sunset drink on a sandy island. Then after the sunset, you will go back to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Game Drive at Nyerere National Park with Picnic Lunch
After breakfast, take a game drive along small lakes and the meandering arms of the Rufiji River where the big games are coming for a drink and graze.
On this day you will have chances to explore the beauty of the true wilderness with an abundance of animals such as elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, wildebeest, zebra, lions, and leopards as well as hyenas. The big schools of hippos and crocodiles are covering the shores of the lakes.
In addition to birds, you will spot lots of birds on the shore of the lakes, rivers, and in the forest. More than 400spp have been recorded to be seen in this park from aquatic to terrestrial, and migratory birds. With a little luck, even the otherwise rare African wild dog or a leopard can be seen. At noon, a picnic lunch is going to be done under a shady tree or picnic site.
