Tsavo East to Amboseli National Park

You'll enjoy a pre-breakfast safari in Tsavo East National Park. After breakfast, you'll proceed to Amboseli National Park with a game drive en route.

Amboseli National Park is famous for viewing a large herd of elephants in proximity. Other attractions of the park include opportunities to meet the Maasai and visit a Maasai village. The park also has views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in Africa.

Amboseli was home to Echo, perhaps the most researched elephant in the world, and the subject of many books and documentaries. He was followed for almost four decades by American conservationist Dr. Cynthia Moss.

The park offers some of the best opportunities to see African wildlife because the vegetation is sparse due to the long, dry months. The protected area is home to African bush elephants, Cape buffaloes, impalas, lions, cheetahs, and spotted hyenas.
Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Sopa Lodges Amboseli.

Amboseli National Park to Tsavo West National Park

Breakfast is followed by an extensive game drive in Amboseli National Park before heading to Tsavo West National Park. Tsavo West has a variety of wildlife such as the Eastern black rhinoceros, hippopotamus, Cape buffalos, elephants, leopards, and lions. Other smaller animals can be spotted such as the bush babies, hartebeest, lesser kudu, and Maasai giraffes.

Apart from wildlife, you will visit the Mzima Springs which is one of Tsavo's most popular wildlife attractions owing to its resident populations of hippo and Nile crocodiles. Mzima's isolation makes both species dependent on its waters as other sources are too distant for them to reach by overland travel. The hippos also sustain an entire food chain. They browse the surrounding savannah by night and return to Mzima's pools by day, where their dung fertilizes the water. Fruiting trees such as the date, raffia palms, water berries, and figs grow beside the water.
