This site offers a comprehensive look at the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi, during which one million Rwandans perished over a span of just 100 days. The memorial provides a profound understanding of this tragic period in history through exhibitions, personal testimonies and commemorative spaces.
Following your visit, you'll break for lunch at a local restaurant, then continue your journey with a drive to Volcanoes National Park. Upon arrival, you'll check into Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel. Spend the remainder of the afternoon unwinding and getting ready for your trekking adventure, which promises to be an exciting and memorable experience.

Day 3

Gorilla Trekking and Heritage Tour
Following an early breakfast, you'll be transported to the park headquarters where you'll receive a brief overview of the guidelines for gorilla trekking. After the briefing, you'll be assigned a trekking team, and a specific Gorilla family to track. Embark on your trek through the forest in pursuit of the majestic gorillas. The duration of the trek can vary between 2 to 6 hours based on the gorillas' movements and your group's pace. Once you encounter the gorillas, you'll have up to an hour to observe and interact with them. Enjoy picnic lunch deep in the equatorial forest.
After your trek, you'll return to your lodge for freshening up and relaxation.
Later in the afternoon, you’ll experience a cultural immersion, gaining a deeper understanding of Rwandan traditions and customs.

After a delightful early breakfast, our safari driver guide will pick you up for an exhilarating golden monkey trekking adventure. You'll journey into the lush jungle in search of these charming primates. While this trek shares similarities with gorilla trekking, it is generally less demanding and offers a unique opportunity to observe these playful creatures.
Upon completing your trek, you'll return to the lodge for a relaxing lunch. In the afternoon, you'll transfer to Kigali. Enjoy a brief tour of the city, taking in some of its highlights and vibrant atmosphere before your evening airport transfer.
