The name Samburu is of Maasai origin, a ‘samburr’ is a traditional leather bag the Masai use for carrying honey and milk.
After breakfast, go for a full day game drive carrying packed lunch. A day spent searching for the big five, the Samburu five, and observing the vast unspoiled scenery. These five particular animals are usually only found north of the equator – the long-necked gerenuk, the reticulated giraffe which is characterized by its liver-colored geometric patches defined by narrow white lines, the Grevy’s zebra which is smaller than the common zebra and looks more like a horse, the beisa oryx with a black horizontal stripe running across its lower flank and the Somali ostrich males which have blue-grey necks and thighs. After breakfast, leave for Ol Pejeta Conservancy to arrive in good time for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, enjoy your game drive in this 364sq km wildlife conservancy situated between the foothills of Mount Kenya and the Aberdares and its game-to-area ratio tops the Kenyan park and reserve league. Ol Pejeta has over 10000 large mammals and it is the only park where the big 5 and chimpanzees can be seen. It is also where the fastest-growing population of rhinos in Africa can be found. There are southern white rhino, about 80 endangered black rhino and in a special sanctuary, there are the world’s last remaining northern white rhino. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Have an early morning game drive followed by breakfast. Depart to Lake Nakuru National Park to arrive in time for lunch and short rest. After lunch an exciting game drive until 6.30 in the evening. The Park is a home to stunning flocks of lesser and Greater Flamingos, which literally turn the lake shores in to a magnificent pink stretch. The bird life here is world renown and over 400 birds' species exist here, White Pelicans, Plovers, Egrets and Marabou Stork. It is also one of the very few places in Africa to see the White and Black Rhino and rare Rothschild Giraffe. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge.

Much of the lake is surrounded by forests of the yellow barked Acacia Xanthophlea, known as the yellow fever tree whereby these forests abound with birdlife, and Naivasha is known as a world-class birding. The waters of the lake draw a great range of games to these shores. Giraffes wander among the acacia, Buffalo wallow in the swamps and Colobus monkeys call from the treetops while the Lakes large hippo population sleeps the day out in the shallows. Proceeds to the area of Lake Amboseli, which is a wide salt pan, consisting of permanent swamps. This area has much game, large and small, high concentration of Elephant, rhino, buffalo, Burchell’s zebra, eland, Masai giraffe and small species of the antelope family, the common waterbuck, klipspringer, Grant’s gazelle, impala, topi, and the diminutive duiker among others.
