Day 1

Zanzibar To Ndutu

Zanzibar To Ndutu

Upon arriving at Seronera Airstrip, you'll start your game drive toward Ndutu. Once in Ndutu, enjoy a half-day game drive with a stop for a picnic lunch. The region is covered with sweeping grasslands that blend into the Serengeti, and it's part of the route for the annual migration of over 2 million wildebeests, along with thousands of zebras, antelopes, and gazelles. Between December and April, the plains transform into calving grounds and nurseries for the migration, attracting predators eager to hunt the vulnerable young. Ndutu’s water sources, including Lake Ndutu and Lake Masek, ensure abundant wildlife even in the dry season. The area is home to six species of big cats: leopards, lions, cheetahs, caracals, servals, and wildcats. Your action-packed game drive will conclude in the evening with a transfer to your hotel for rest.

Enjoy a full day of game drives in Ndutu. The region's grasslands, enriched with vital minerals from volcanic ash deposited millions of years ago, attract millions of wildebeests each year who return to give birth. Between January and mid-February, it's estimated that around 4,000 wildebeests are born each day. You can spend this day exploring the area at your own pace.

Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

After breakfast, you'll head to the Ngorongoro Crater, descending about 2,000 feet to its floor. Formed over 3 million years ago when a massive volcano erupted and collapsed, the crater now provides a unique habitat for a diverse range of wildlife, including black rhinos, elephants, zebras, wildebeests, and lions, along with several freshwater and soda lakes. You’ll spend the morning on a game drive, pausing for lunch by one of the lakes. After lunch, you'll ascend from the crater and transfer to Arusha Airport for your flight back to Zanzibar.
