Nairobi to Tsavo East via SGR Train

After an early breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the train station to board the SGR train departing Nairobi at 8:00 am. You will need to arrive at least 1 hour before departure for check-in procedures. The 4-hour train journey gives you a glimpse of Kenya's breathtaking landscapes. Upon arrival at Voi Train Station, our driver will meet you and drive you to Tsavo East National Park. Check in and enjoy lunch at Voi Wildlife Lodge, followed by a short rest. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive before returning for dinner and overnight stay.

Tsavo East National Park is renowned for its biodiversity, featuring the Big Five: lion, black rhino, cape buffalo, elephant, and leopard. The park also hosts a variety of bird species, including the crowned crane, black kite, and sacred ibis. The landscape is generally flat with dry plains, traversed by the Galana River. Today is dedicated to exploring the wonders of Tsavo East National Park. After breakfast at the lodge, embark on a full-day adventure with a packed lunch, venturing deeper into the park. Witness the iconic scene of dust-red elephants playing near the palm-shaded Galana River. Be awestruck by the Yatta Plateau, the world’s longest lava flow stretching for 300 kilometers. Search for a variety of wildlife, including predators and their prey – zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, and hippos – and visit the popular Aruba Dam. Traverse the park under the majestic peak of Kilimanjaro, with plenty of opportunities to see elephants, lions, cheetahs, Masai giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and some of the over 300 bird species that call Amboseli home. This geological wonder stretches over 7,000 kilometers with the East African branch that goes from Ethiopia to Mozambique featuring volcanoes, hot springs, and diverse ecosystems. Arrive at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge for lunch and check-in. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Naivasha and a walking safari at Crescent Island, a private game sanctuary with abundant wildlife including zebras, giraffes, and hippos.
