The afternoon will be at your leisure, with optional activities such as a visit to a Maasai Cultural Village or a walking safari guided by Maasai warriors (morans) through the expansive African savannah. This experience allows you to learn about medicinal plants used by the Maasai and observe how they coexist with wildlife within the Mara ecosystem.

The Masai Mara National Reserve, locally known as "the Mara," is a vast game reserve in Narok County, Kenya, adjoining Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park. Named in honor of the Maasai people—its ancestral inhabitants—the word "Mara" in Maa (the Maasai language) means "spotted," aptly describing the landscape, dotted with trees, shrubs, savannah, and cloud shadows.

The calm, early morning air in the Masai Mara offers a unique opportunity for hot-air balloon flights, providing a bird's-eye view of the reserve. Available as an optional tour, it’s recommended you book early to secure your place.

A pre-breakfast morning game drive is a great opportunity to explore the vast flora and fauna of this magnificent reserve. After the drive, return to your lodge for a late morning breakfast, followed by lunch and an afternoon game drive.

Alternatively, you may opt for a full-day game drive with picnic lunch boxes, exploring areas such as the Mara River and the Kenya/Tanzania border, which offers an excellent chance to spot the "Big Five." You’ll have lunch at the Hippo Pool before returning to your lodge in the late afternoon. Relax in the evening, or consider visiting a nearby Maasai village for an optional cultural experience.
