Arusha Town to Serengeti National Park

The name "Serengeti" comes from the Maasai word "Siringitu," which means "endless plains." As you explore this vast expanse, you'll understand why the Maasai chose this name—the grassland savannah stretches uninterrupted to the horizon, only occasionally interrupted by dramatic kopjes, which are unique rock formations shaped by the weathering of granite outcrops. These plains provide ideal hunting grounds for leopards and other big cats, and you'll have the opportunity to spot these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat from the open roof of your vehicle. In the afternoon, you'll arrive at your destination for the day: the Seronera Valley in the Central Serengeti. Here, you'll camp for the night in safari-style tents, enjoying a hearty meal amidst the captivating African bush.
