Nairobi to Tsavo East National Park

Your safari adventure begins with a morning pick-up at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi by your professional driver/guide in a pop-up roof 4x4 Land Cruiser. From there, you will embark on a scenic drive to Tsavo East National Park, a journey of approximately 5-6 hours. As you drive through the Kenyan countryside, you'll have the chance to see the rich landscapes that lead to the vast savannahs of Tsavo. Upon arrival at the park, you’ll enter through the Voi Gate, where your safari kicks off with a game drive en route to your lodge. After checking in at the Sentrim Tsavo Camp, enjoy a hearty lunch while soaking in the stunning surroundings. In the afternoon, head out for your first official game drive in Tsavo East, famous for its red elephants, lions, and the majestic Galana River. Explore the park’s rugged terrain and spot wildlife against the backdrop of the expansive savannah. As the day draws to a close, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Full Day in Tsavo East National Park

Wake up early to catch the beauty of a sunrise game drive. Early mornings are the best time to spot predators like lions and cheetahs as they hunt, as well as other animals like zebras and giraffes. You’ll visit the Aruba Dam, a watering hole that attracts a variety of wildlife, offering excellent photo opportunities. After a rewarding game drive, return to the lodge for a well-earned breakfast. The rest of the morning is at leisure, allowing you to relax at the lodge or enjoy optional activities like bird watching or a visit to the Lugard Falls, where the Galana River cascades through stunning rock formations. After lunch at the lodge, you’ll set off on an afternoon game drive, venturing deeper into the park to discover more of Tsavo East’s incredible wildlife. As the sun sets, you’ll return to your lodge for dinner and your second night in the heart of the wilderness.

Begin with a final morning game drive, your last chance to encounter the park’s iconic animals before heading back to the lodge for breakfast. After checking out, you’ll depart from Tsavo East and start your journey back to Nairobi, stopping for lunch en route. You’ll arrive back in Nairobi in the late afternoon or early evening, where your driver will drop you off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight.
