You'll begin with an early breakfast, followed by a full day of game drives. You'll enjoy beautiful views of Mt. Kilimanjaro before clouds cover the summit. Day 3

Amboseli to Lake Naivasha by Road

After an early breakfast, you will depart Amboseli National Park for a scenic 5-hour drive to Lake Naivasha, stopping to admire the Great Rift Valley. This geological wonder stretches over 7,000 kilometers with the East African branch that goes from Ethiopia to Mozambique featuring volcanoes, hot springs, and diverse ecosystems. You'll arrive at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge for lunch and check-in. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a boat ride on Lake Naivasha and a walking safari at Crescent Island, a private game sanctuary with abundant wildlife including zebras, giraffes, and hippos. The sanctuary boasts more animals per acre than any other park in Kenya. You are certain to trek by diverse herds of wildlife —wildebeest, waterbucks, zebras, giraffes, and gazelles among others. Hippos are also known to graze all about the island, and you’re sure to spot pelicans, cormorants, and fish eagles as well. You'll return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

In the afternoon, you will embark on a captivating game drive within Lake Nakuru National Park. While the iconic pink flamingo flocks might be less frequent due to climate changes, keep your eyes peeled for these vibrant birds. This day begins with an early morning game drive in Masai Mara at 6:00 am, followed by breakfast back at your lodge. Today is dedicated to exploring the wonders of the Masai Mara National Reserve. You'll embark on a full-day adventure with a packed lunch, searching for the vast herds of wildebeest during migration season (early July to late September) or the year-round residents like zebras, impalas, topis, giraffes, gazelles, predators, and even the elusive black rhino. You'll witness the hippos and crocodiles in the Mara River, and consider an optional guided walk with a ranger for a closer look at a nominal extra cost. You'll return to your accommodations for dinner and an overnight stay in the heart of the Mara. You may also opt for a Maasai Village visit to experience firsthand how the people of this indigenous tribe live. You will be given an enlightening look into their daily lives, customs, and traditions including their cultural practices such as the Maasai dance.
