Day 1

Arrival in Arusha

The safari guide from Zara tours will meet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport. From the airport, your guide will transfer you to your hotel in Arusha, where you can relax for the rest of the afternoon, enjoy your overnight stay, and prepare for the next day's adventure. If you have time, you can explore the city with our guide.

Day 2

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and transfer you to Tarangire National Park for a game drive, carrying lunch boxes. Once the game drive is complete, we will drive you to the Highview Hotel to relax, have dinner, and stay overnight.

Tarangire National Park is well-known for its large elephant herds. You will see a variety of landscapes, from seasonal swamps to savannahs and the Tarangire River, which winds its way through the parklands. The Tarangire River is the only water source for wildlife during the Dry season. You may even see a lion stalking its prey and leopards relaxing in the trees above.

Day 3

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will depart to Serengeti National Park for a game drive and enjoy lunch in a suitable place inside the park. We will continue the game drive activity in the afternoon before reaching the camp. Serengeti National Park is well-known for its great migrating herds of zebra, antelope, and wildebeest, which, depending on the rainy season, gather for calving season. However, be ready to also see resident predators such as leopards, cheetahs, and lions fulfilling their role in the circle of life.

Day 4

Serengeti National Park

Have breakfast at your accommodation, followed by a game drive in the Serengeti National Park, searching for big cats and the Big Five. In the afternoon, your driver will set and prepare the table for a hot lunch of soup, bread rolls, main dish and fruit salad. This will be followed by a glass of wine or tea and coffee. Later in the afternoon, return to your accommodation for dinner and your overnight stay inside the park with a beautiful view of the sunset.

The Serengeti supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephant. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopards.

Day 5

Ngorongoro Crater

Early morning, after breakfast, we depart for the Ngorongoro Crater. When you first see the crater, it looks like a forgotten world. You will be able to spot the endangered black rhino and large prides of lions. The crater was created when a large volcano exploded and collapsed two to three million years ago. It is famous for both its geological delights and being a natural reserve home to some of the densest large mammal populations on the African continent.

The drive down into the crater is an adventure in itself. When you reach the crater floor, you quickly find yourself amongst large numbers of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and more than 500 bird species. The crater provides you with the best chance of seeing the endangered black rhino, which can sometimes be spotted in the open grass. After a packed lunch, drive to the Serengeti Highview Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Arusha Airport to Zanzibar

After breakfast, relax at the lodge and, if time allows, take a short tour of Karatu town for shopping. From here, you will transfer to Arusha Airport for a flight to Zanzibar. Our driver in Zanzibar will be waiting for you at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (formerly known as Zanzibar International Airport) for a private transfer to your hotel in Zanzibar.

Day 9

Zanzibar Island

At the time of your choice, you will transfer to Nungwi. This large village at Zanzibar Island's northernmost tip was once best known as a dhow-building center. Today, it's a major tourist destination, thanks in part to the beautiful beach and stunning sunsets. Diving, snorkeling, fishing, and other watersports are the main attractions here.

From Nungwi, frequented dive sites are mainly down the east coast or to Mnemba Island and reefs near Tumbatu Island. For swimmers, Nungwi's local geography and tidal pattern mean that swimming is possible at any time. Other activities available include yoga, cycling and guided tours of the village.

Day 10

Flight Zanzibar

After breakfast, you will be picked up from the hotel and transferred to Zanzibar Airport. Depending on your flight time, we can take you on our guided Stone Town tour. During this tour, you can visit most of the historical sites, such as the Central Market of Zanzibar, where you can see fresh fish coming from different angles of the island, the former Slave Market, the House of Wonders, the Old Fort, the Palace Museum, and interesting walks along the narrow lanes of Stone Town where you can shop.
