Northern Serengeti National Park

Your safari begins in the Serengeti, one of the world’s most famous national parks. Known for its vast, sweeping savannas and abundant wildlife, the Serengeti is home to the Great Migration, one of nature's most incredible phenomena. Every year, over two million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles embark on a dramatic journey across the plains, following the rains in search of fresh grazing grounds.

You’ll have the opportunity to witness these herds as they navigate the challenges of the migration, crossing rivers, facing predators, and battling harsh conditions. The Serengeti offers more than just the migration, though—it’s a haven for predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards, as well as a vibrant array of birds and other wildlife.

This is the best time to visit Serengeti!

The southern and northern plains of the Serengeti are the two main feeding grounds for the herds. The animals are constantly on the move between these two areas each year. We can generally predict where they should be at a given time of the year. After an astonishing day of wonders, you will later drive back to the lodge for an overnight stay and dinner.

With our packed lunches we will travel to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most spectacular wildlife conservation areas in the world. This ancient volcanic caldera is often referred to as "Africa’s Garden of Eden." At nearly 2,000 feet deep, the crater is home to a stunning concentration of wildlife, including elephants, rhinos, lions, and buffalo. The fertile soils support lush vegetation, creating a rich environment for a variety of species.

A descent into the crater offers a opportunity to observe animals in a unique setting—where the entire ecosystem thrives within the confines of the caldera. It’s one of the best places to see the endangered black rhino, as well as large herds of wildebeest and zebra. The scenery is breathtaking, with steep crater walls framing the lush plains and open grasslands. After the excitement we will drive back to Arusha.
