Day 1

Nairobi to Lake Naivasha

Your safari begins with a morning departure from Nairobi, heading towards Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley. The scenic drive offers breathtaking views of the escarpment, with an optional stop at a viewpoint for photos. Upon arrival at Hell’s Gate National Park, you’ll embark on an exciting game drive through the park’s dramatic landscapes, characterized by towering cliffs, deep gorges, and geothermal steam vents. The park is unique because you can also explore on foot or by bicycle, allowing for an up-close experience with zebras, giraffes, warthogs, and antelopes.

After the game drive, you’ll drive to your hotel for check-in and buffet lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll take a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, where you’ll glide across the calm waters, watching hippos basking and spotting various bird species, including fish eagles and pelicans. As the sun sets over the lake, you’ll return to the hotel for dinner and a relaxing evening, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of Naivasha.

After an early breakfast, you’ll check out and begin your journey to Maasai Mara National Reserve. You'll drive through the scenic landscapes of the Rift Valley and Maasai villages. Upon arrival at your camp, you’ll enjoy lunch and some time to rest before heading out for an afternoon game drive.

This introductory game drive will give you a taste of Maasai Mara’s incredible wildlife. You will spot elephants, lions, buffaloes, zebras, and various antelope species as they prepare for the night. Afterward, you’ll return to your camp for dinner and a restful night under the African sky.

Today is dedicated to exploring the vast plains of Masai Mara on a full-day game drive. After an early breakfast, you’ll set out in search of the park’s famous Big Five (lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffaloes) and other fascinating wildlife such as cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, and hippos.

If you’re visiting during the great migration (July–October), you will witness the dramatic wildebeest crossing at the Mara River, a spectacle filled with thrilling predator-prey encounters. A picnic lunch will be served in the heart of the reserve, allowing you to dine while surrounded by the beauty of the wild.

In the afternoon, you will continue your game drive exploring different terrains, from open plains to riverine forests, ensuring diverse wildlife encounters. As the day winds down, you'll return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.
