Sossusvlei, Dead Vlei Experience
Today starts very early to catch the soft light of sunrise over the desert. After passing through Sesriem, we continue toward Sossusvlei with sand dunes rising along both sides of the road. This iconic landscape is made up of white plains and red dunes which tower majestically against a deep blue sky and are among the highest in the world. We start off by climbing Dune 45 and experiencing the beauty and vastness of the orange-colored landscape. We then proceed to the impressive Dead Vlei, a vast desert pan where dried-up, ancient acacias stand silent. Here, you can climb one of the highest dunes on Earth, the Big Mama.
You return to the camp and relax at the swimming pool since the temperature can rise significantly during the day. The afternoon can be spent on hiking the Sesriem Canyon. You return to the camp and freshen up before dinner. The rest of the night is spent at leisure.
