Day 1

Upon arrival, you will be met by our driver and transferred a short distance from the airport to pick up your hired car.

Your vehicle will be a double-cab 4x4 (or similar), complete with a cool box. You will also be provided with an information pack that includes driving directions, accommodation details, and contact phone numbers.

You'll start your self-drive adventure immediately by driving north to the Okonjima Nature Reserve, where you'll stay at the Plains Camp for one night. If you arrive in time, you might like to book one of the guided activities available at an extra cost or perhaps just enjoy the Namibian wilderness on a self-guided walking trail.

Note: Due to the time of your flight arrival, it might be necessary to include an initial night closer to Windhoek on the first day of arrival.

Day 2

With an early start this morning, you might like to enjoy a guided activity with Okonjima to search for the predators that are radio-collared in their reserve (optional and at an extra cost).

Then, you proceed to Namibia's premier wildlife destination, Etosha National Park, where you will stay on the boundary of the eastern side of the park at Mushara Lodge for the next 2 nights. You'll enjoy a sundowner overlooking the waterhole from the lodge this afternoon. Also, for those keen to see what Etosha has to offer, you might like to head into the national park through the Von Lindequist gate.

Day 3

Eastern Etosha National Park

You'll have a full day to explore the eastern side of Etosha National Park. You can either explore the park independently by driving into it and paying the necessary park fees, or you might decide to book a guided activity. Mushara Lodge can organize the activity either in the national park or in the private reserve for you at an extra cost.

Etosha offers fantastic wildlife viewing opportunities, particularly around the waterholes. You can expect to see elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, zebras, springboks and gemsboks. It’s also one of the best places in southern Africa to see the endangered cheetahs, black rhinos, and rare antelope species such as black-faced impalas, Damara dik-diks, and roan antelopes.

You'll have a rare chance to climb down from the safari vehicle and explore on foot, thereby noticing the smaller things you might miss from the vehicle.

Today, you’ll have a full day to explore the Kavango Region and the surrounding national parks from Riverdance Lodge. To get the most out of your stay, it is worth booking the activities which interest you (with the lodge itself and at an extra cost).

You can go on a game drive to the Mahango or the Bwabwata National Park, go on a hiking trip, visit a village, take a boat cruise, fish, or even do yoga!

This morning, it is worth leaving quite early as you have a drive of around 7 hours ahead of you. You’ll see a dramatic change in the landscape as you head northeast into the Caprivi Strip, or as it is now known, the Zambezi Region. You'll leave the desert that makes up most of Namibia and enter the Okavango River system.

Your home for the next 2 nights is River Dance Lodge, located on the banks of the Kavango River. The nearest town is Divundu, which is around 35km due east. After a long day in the car, relax with a drink on the lodge's raised decks overlooking the majestic river.

Today, you’ll have a full day to explore the Kavango Region and the surrounding national parks from River Dance Lodge. To get the most out of your stay, it is worth booking the activities that interest you (at the lodge itself and at an extra cost).

After (perhaps) another morning activity before you depart Riverdance Lodge, continue heading east, further into the Caprivi Strip or Zambezi Region.

Nkasa Lupala Tented Lodge is a remote lodge on the boundary of the stunning Nkasa Rupara National Park, separated from Botswana by the Kwando River. During the Dry season, large herds of elephants and buffalos can be found in this park as they cross between the 2 countries.

You'll enjoy a full day on safari with Nkasa Lupala Tented Lodge on activities that you can book directly with the lodge. Therefore, you'll have the flexibility of deciding how much or how little you would like to do.

The lodge is just 300m from the official boundary of the Nkasa Rupara National Park, however, there are no fences so wildlife can often be found around the lodge. Activities on offer include day and night drives, boat cruises, walking safaris, and village visits.

Today, you will leave Namibia and head to Botswana. Your first stop is the town of Katima Mulilo, where you will drop off your hire car and meet a transfer across the border.

Your destination is Chobe Bakwena Lodge which is near the town of Kazungula, just a short distance from the world-famous Chobe National Park.

Your activities are included during the next 2 days. Be sure to arrive around 2:00 pm so that you are ready for an initial exploration of Chobe that afternoon.

Chobe is renowned for its prolific wildlife and huge concentrations of game. Today, you can experience an early morning game drive and an afternoon boat trip on the Chobe River. You’ll have a chance to see hippos and crocodiles basking in the sun, plus herds of elephants and an abundance of other wildlife and birdlife. Chobe is thought to hold the largest surviving elephant population anywhere in the world, and during the Dry season, the population can swell up to 120,000!

Today, you’ll leave Botswana and be driven into Zimbabwe. Your destination is Victoria Falls where you’ll stay for 2 nights. The drive should take around 2 hours, including the border crossing.

Your wonderful lodge is located in the heart of the town. It is a fantastic base from which to experience the majestic Victoria Falls and the mighty Zambezi River. The entrance to the falls is only a short walk of around 10 minutes, making this the ideal hotel.

We recommend starting your day with a walking tour of the breathtaking Victoria Falls. You can do this independently, or we can organize a guided tour for you.

Getting up close to the falls is a truly exhilarating experience! You can walk along the footpaths and stop at the various viewpoints to see the falls from different perspectives. If you would like a bird's-eye view of the falls, we can arrange an exciting helicopter ride or microlight flight during which you’ll circle over Victoria Falls, the nearby islands, and the Zambezi River.

You may wish to experience a game drive in the Zambezi National Park, or you can participate in adventurous activities such as gorge swinging, white-water rafting, kayaking, or bungee jumping!
