Arrival and Introduction to Ugandan Coffee

Morning: Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to Kampala for hotel check-in. At 2:00 PM, visit the Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA) to learn about the country’s coffee industry. At 4:00 PM, explore Kampala's coffee shops, sampling a variety of local blends. End the day with dinner at a local restaurant, where you'll receive a detailed briefing about the upcoming tour.

Coffee Farm Visit and Processing

At 8:00 AM, depart for Mbale, a scenic drive of approximately 4 hours. Arrive at noon and visit a coffee farm in the Mt. Elgon region, renowned for its rich coffee-growing heritage. At 2:00 PM, engage in a hands-on learning experience about coffee harvesting, processing, and drying methods. By 4:00 PM, participate in demonstrations of coffee pulping and hulling, gaining deeper insights into the coffee production process. End the day by staying overnight at a nearby lodge or guesthouse, surrounded by the beautiful landscapes of the region.

By 4:00 PM, explore Mbale town, visit local markets, and experience the town's vibrant culture. Conclude the day with an overnight stay at the same lodge.

Return to Kampala and Departure

At 8:00 AM, depart from Mbale for Kampala, a journey of approximately 4 hours. Arrive in Kampala around noon and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, sampling authentic Ugandan cuisine. At 2:00 PM, visit a coffee export company to gain insight into Uganda's role in the international coffee trade, understanding the journey from bean to global markets. At 4:00 PM, attend a departure briefing, where you'll receive final instructions and have the opportunity to shop for souvenirs. In the evening, transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your departure.

For those with extra time, optional activities are available at additional cost. You can visit Sipi Falls or other nearby attractions, take a guided hike in the scenic Mt. Elgon region, or participate in a traditional coffee ceremony for a deeper cultural immersion. These experiences offer a more enriched conclusion to your Ugandan adventure.
