Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park

Pickup and transfer: You will be picked up from Dar es Salaam early in the morning by a professional guide and transferred to Nyerere National Park. The road transfer will take approximately 5-6 hours, offering scenic views of the Tanzanian countryside.

Arrival at Nyerere National Park: Upon arrival, you will check in at Africa Safari Selous, a comfortable lodge offering authentic African hospitality in the heart of the wilderness. It has amenities like en-suite bathrooms, a swimming pool, and a bar.

Rufiji River Boat Safari: After lunch and settling in, enjoy an exciting boat safari along the famous Rufiji River. This river is a central feature of Nyerere National Park and teems with wildlife. During the boat ride, you'll have a chance to see:

Hippos wallowing in the water.
Nile crocodiles, the largest in Africa.
Water birds such as African fish eagles, kingfishers, and herons.
If lucky, you may even spot elephants or lions coming to the river to drink.

Morning Game Drive: After an early breakfast, you will set out for a full-day game drive in the park. Nyerere National Park, one of the largest wildlife sanctuaries in Africa, offers spectacular wildlife sightings. Including
Elephants: The park is home to one of the largest elephant populations in Africa.
Lions: You might witness these big cats on the prowl or relaxing in the shade.
Buffalos, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and various antelope species such as impalas, kudu, and waterbucks.
A variety of bird species, making it a haven for birdwatchers.
Picnic Lunch: You’ll enjoy a packed lunch in the bush, allowing you to maximize your time in the park and continue your exploration.
Afternoon Game Drive: After lunch, continue the game drive, heading deeper into the park, where the landscape varies from dense miombo woodlands to open savannah, wetlands, and riverine forests
In the late afternoon, you'll return to Africa Safari Selous for relaxation, dinner, and a peaceful overnight stay.
