Arusha – Tarangire National Park

We will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha at 8:00 am and take you to a very special safari park in Tanzania. Tarangire is famous for its diverse landscape with 9 different vegetation zones.

The Tarangire National Park is particularly known for the abundance of ancient baobab trees (the largest trees on the continent), which fill the landscape and dwarf the animals next to them. The river of the park is full of wildlife ranging from a large variety of birds to lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes and, of course, African elephants. In fact, Tarangire has the largest concentration of elephants in the country and provides unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families. In the afternoon, we will do a game drive before continuing to your accommodation at Migombani Campsite.

Tarangire National Park – Serengeti National Park

There was a reason that “The Lion King” creators drew their inspiration from the Serengeti, and today you will get to discover why. Renowned for its large lion population, this may be the best opportunity to get a great view of a lion pride in its natural habitat, as the gazelles, zebras, and buffalos are abundant in this region. Come during the right season and witness the birth of the wildebeest calves, where they will begin their annual migration to Kenya at the end of May. Lunch will be served in the park, and after a full day of game drives, you will proceed to Nyani Campsite.

Today, you will have time for 2 game drives; one after breakfast and another towards the evening. If you visit during the migration, your guide will help you track down the location of the wildebeests. Lunch will be served in the park, and after a full day of game drives, your accommodation at Nyani Campsite awaits.

Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater

On this day, we suggest waking up very early to do an early morning game drive (when the animals are more active) and see one of the best sunrises you’ll ever witness. It’s really one of the most beautiful experiences. After the game drive, we return to the camp for a rewarding brunch.

We will then proceed to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the 8th Wonder of the Natural World. It’s one of the rare locations on the continent where you can witness the black rhino. The concentration of African wildlife here is also the greatest on the continent. The crater has a river, several swamps, a soda lake with a great concentration of flamingos, a forest and open plains. It’s also famous for its elephants, which are the largest in the world and have huge tusks. This is due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses.

You will head to Simba Campsite for your overnight stay.

Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

After breakfast, we descend into the crater for an early morning game drive, hoping the cool morning air allows us to see some active wildlife. As the temperatures rise, we may head to the hippo pool to see these spectacular creatures enjoying a dip to beat the heat. As lunch approaches, we make our way to the picnic site on the lake, taking in the spectacular views and a bite to eat before we head out on the final game drive. After our last glimpse of the park, we head towards the crater rim for the journey back to Arusha.

This marks the end of this 5-day camping safari in Tanzania.
