Pickup in Kigali and Transfer to Congo

Our company guide will pick you up from the hotel/lodge in Kigali after breakfast or airport and drive you through the rolling hills to Cyangugu boarder. You may have a stopover in Butare museum, Nyanza palace en route reaching the border early in the evening. You will cross over to Bukavu reaching early evening for overnight at your lodge.

Lowland gorilla tracking in Kahuzi-Biega national park

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to Kahuzi-Biega park headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. You will be assigned a gorilla family to track and later at 8 am, head to the forest to track the gorillas. The park has other mammals, primates and several bird species that you may encounter on your way. You will stay a maximum of one hour with the gorillas once you meet them. On return, you will drive back to Bukavu for refreshment at your hotel. You will then have an opportunity in the afternoon/evening to visit community homes, the Kibati waterfalls, Bukavu town, the Mbayo tea estate. Dinner and overnight at your earlier-booked lodge.

Transfer back to Kigali

You will wake up to breakfast and head for Kigali through the Changugu border and En-route, your safari guide will stopover and you visit the palace of the King of Nyanza and. You will also get a chance to visit the Butare Museum in case you missed them on Day 1. You will arrive in Kigali evening where you will have your dinner and overnight at your hotel or transfer to the airport for departure. This marks the end of your 3 Day Eastern Lowland Gorilla Trekking Tour in Congo.
