Start your day with an early rise and a quick breakfast, then head to the park headquarters for a briefing on chimpanzee tracking protocols. Accompanied by a knowledgeable park guide, venture into the forest to track chimpanzees and other primates in their natural habitat, renowned as the primate capital of the world. Along the way, encounter a variety of forest dwellers such as L’hoest’s monkeys, black-faced colobus monkeys.

Highlight of the day is observing the playful antics, communication, and feeding habits of the chimpanzees, typically allowed for an hour. Keep an eye out for forest bird species like the African broadbill, Ross' turaco, and great blue turaco, as well as colorful butterflies and diverse flora.
After lunch, either enjoy a picnic in the park or return to your lodge. After an immersive encounter with the chimpanzees, in the evening you will take a tour around tea plantations and the beautiful crater lakes.
