Drive to Kibale National Park

Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Entebbe or Kampala. You´ll journey through Uganda’s picturesque countryside, passing rolling hills, tea plantations, and vibrant villages that offer a glimpse of rural life. Along the way, there will be opportunities to stop for refreshments, stretch your legs, and capture the beauty of the Ugandan landscape.

As you approach Kibale, you’ll be welcomed by the dense, tropical rainforest that is home to one of the highest concentrations of primates in Africa. Upon arrival at your lodge, settle in and enjoy a relaxing afternoon surrounded by nature’s serenity.
Depending on your arrival time, you may choose to take a short guided nature walk to explore the local surroundings or simply unwind as you prepare for the exciting chimpanzee tracking experience the following day.

Dinner will be served at the lodge.

Chimpanzee trekking

Your day begins with an early breakfast before heading to Kibale National Park for a briefing by your ranger guides. After the briefing, you’ll embark on a guided trek into the lush rainforest to track the chimpanzees. As you walk through the forest, you may also spot other primates like red-tailed monkeys and black-and-white colobus. Once the chimpanzees are found, you’ll spend an hour observing them up close—watching their playful interactions and listening to their distinctive calls.

After the chimpanzee tracking, return to the lodge for lunch and some downtime. In the afternoon, you have the option to visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, famous for its rich birdlife and diverse primates. A guided walk through the wetland offers a chance to see the Great Blue Turaco and learn about local conservation efforts.

Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and relaxation, reflecting on your close encounters with Uganda’s remarkable wildlife.

Drive to Entebbe/Kampala

After a hearty breakfast, you’ll begin your journey back to Entebbe, marking the end of your exciting chimpanzee safari. As you leave Kibale National Park, take in the scenic views of Uganda’s rolling hills, forests, and tea plantations along the way. There will be opportunities for brief stops to stretch, grab a snack, or capture last-minute photos of the beautiful countryside.

You’ll arrive back in Entebbe in the late afternoon, bringing your 3-day adventure to a close. This final day offers a relaxed journey back, giving you time to reflect on the memorable experiences of tracking chimpanzees and exploring Uganda’s stunning natural landscapes.
