Day 1

Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

Our guide will pick you from your hotel or airport for a 5 hour journey to the Masai Mara game reserve. This is an exciting drive through stunning countryside of farms and rural villages with occassional sightings of plains game.
We make our first stop at the great escarpment; a major natural topographical feature of steep slopes formed through active movement of tectonic plates dating some 25 million years. After the scenic view and refreshments, we ascend to the floor of the Rift valley and head to Narok town the main economic center in Masailand. We then proceed through the Loitta plains to arrive at our Masai Mara camp in good time for Lunch.
Our first game drive commences at 4pm in this extensive nature reserve, we are on the look out for the big predators and numerous plains game found here in abundance. We return to camp by sunset for dinner and overnight.

Day 2

Masai Mara Reserve full day exploration

Wake up early to the sounds of nature and a beautiful sunrise, you are in a real natural game arena with limitless opportunities. After breakfast, set out for a full day game drive penetrating the reserve further for prides of lions and several migrating herds of wildebeests. The reserve has a large population of Lions and it is possible to spot more than 3 prides in a day. Discover animals in open grasslands, riverine forests, bush shrubs and in rocky outcrops, Elephants, Giraffes, Zebras, and countless other herbivores are on our check list. Monitor great predators; Lions, Leopard and Cheetah.
Coming face to face with migrating herds of wildebeest and zebras and watching them take the ultimate plunge for a river crossing is the climax of this thrilling experience.
Enjoy picnic lunch under the shade of a strategic acacia tree overlooking endless plains. Return to camp late in the afternoon with an option of visiting a traditional Masai village for a cultural interaction {extra cost}.

Day 3

Embark on another full day game drive shortly after breakfast or opt for a dawn Hot Air Balloon safari over Mara followed by a champagne breakfast upon landing{extra cost};this is a one in a lifetime experience, where incredible images of migrating herds are put in a bird’s eye view, alternatively you can decide on an an early morning and afternoon game drives, creating a free midmorning and early afternoon to relax, swim, take a nature walk or visit a local Masai village, also you can take the option of a longer day with packed lunches returning to the camp at late afternoon, whichever way you choose to spend this day, you are guaranteed of a phenomenal top class adventure experience. You shall reach the international border of Kenya and Tanzania popularly known as the Mara triangle which is also a main crossing point for the wildebeests. Return to camp in the evening enjoying a golden sunset gliding slowly on the African horizons.

Day 4

Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru National Park

Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru National Park

Breakfast in Masai Mara followed by our departure for Lake Nakuru, we start off early for an interesting drive through the scenic valleys of the Mau forest range that forms a source of the Mara River. Enjoy beautiful views of rural farms dotted with wheat, corn, potatoes and vegetables. The Mau escarpment is considered an important bread basket of Kenya. We arrive at the Lake Nakuru National Park in good time for lunch. Afternoon game drive follows shortly in this magnificent park known for it’s large number of flamingoes that form a pink flamboyance on the banks of the lake. We are on the lookout for the Rhinos, Buffalos, Giraffes, Zebras, Elands, and a big selection of other grazing herbivores. We could also spot a pride of lions, a pack of hyenas, jackals or find the ultimate prize in this park; the elusive Leopard.
Enjoy watching more animals and a variety of birds until sunset when we head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5

Lake Nakuru to Nairobi

Lake Nakuru to Nairobi

Early morning breakfast in Lake Nakuru, then load up for departure and a further exploration of the park before exit, a good opportunity to spot more animals and birds that we may have missed on previous game drives. We shall explore the picturesque landscape of yellow acacia woodland for more wildlife sightings and also visit the banks of the alkaline shallow lake for a variety of bird species including magnificent flamingoes which is the main attraction.
Exit the park and proceed to banks of Lake Naivasha for a lunch stop. After lunch, embark on an optional afternoon boat ride exploring the Lake surroundings and for a short guided walk on the crescent island {extra cost}, this expedition gets us close to a variety of wildlife and countless birds including the immaculate African fish eagle. We return to the main land for a final drive to Nairobi, you are dropped off at your hotel or Airport. This marks the end of our 5 days Special wildebeest migration safari full of fond memories.
