4-Day Summiting the Majestic Mount Meru Tanzania

Momella Gate - Miriakamba Hut

Altitude Change: From 1,597 m (5,240 ft) to 2,503 m (8,212 ft)
After breakfast around 8:00am we’ll begin our journey from Arusha driving to Momella Gate. After completing the necessary payments, we’ll start our climb with a picnic lunch en route to our first destination, Miriakamba Hut, where dinner and an overnight stay await.
The trek will take approximately 3½ hours.

Miriakamba - Saddle Hut

Altitude Change: From 2,503 m (8,212 ft) to 3,560 m (11,680 ft)

After breakfast, we’ll continue our ascent toward Saddle Hut. This section is notably steeper than the previous one and lasts approximately 2½ hours. In the afternoon, adventurers can opt to climb to Little Meru peak and return. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at Saddle Hut.

Saddle Hut - Summit

Altitude Change: From 3,560 m (11,680 ft) to 4,566 m (14,980 ft)
Descent to: 3,560 m (11,680 ft)
Altitude Lost: 1,006 m

Awaken in the middle of the night and enjoy a cup of tea before setting off on your ascent to Big Meru Peak. Navigate rocky paths to reach the summit, then return to Saddle Hut for a hearty breakfast. The rest of the day is reserved for relaxation. Lunch, dinner, and overnight accommodations will be at Saddle Hut.

Saddle Hut - Momella Gate

Altitude change: From 3,560m/11,680ft to 1,597m/5,240ft
Bid farewell to Saddle Hut and descend to Momella Gate via the first hut, Miriakamba. From there, you will be transported to Arusha or Moshi.
