Today’s journey covers approximately 6 kilometers, bringing you close to Mawenzi Peak, one of Kilimanjaro’s iconic formations. The campsite is beautifully located beside a glacial tarn, offering a stunning setting for your overnight stay.

Day 5
Kibo Hut

You'll trek to Kibo Hut, the base for your summit attempt, covering approximately 10 kilometers and reaching an altitude of about 4,700 meters. As you approach Kibo Hut, the landscape transforms into an alpine and desolate terrain, situated in the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo.

The most challenging yet rewarding day begins with an early morning ascent to Uhuru Peak, Africa’s highest point, just before sunrise. After celebrating your achievement, you'll descend to Horombo Hut, located at an elevation of around 3,720 meters. This long and demanding day covers a total distance of approximately 21 kilometers.

Day 7
Marangu Gate
Marangu Gate
The final day of your trek takes you from Horombo Hut to the Marangu Gate. As you descend, you'll traverse the moorland and lush rainforest zones, covering approximately 27 kilometers. The vibrant vegetation and colorful flora offer a beautiful contrast to your earlier ascent. Upon reaching the Marangu Gate, you'll receive your summit certificates and have the opportunity to express your gratitude to your dedicated guides and porters.
