Fly to the Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight across the border into Tanzania and to the Serengeti. Some operators may suggest driving this leg; however this makes for a very, very long day and completely writes off any chance of wildlife viewing as you have to spend the whole time on the road. To make the most of a short time on safari a flight is definitely the best option.
Your accommodation for the next two nights is Lemala Kuria Hills, a tented lodge in northern Serengeti. This part of the Serengeti is much less visited than other areas and it has fantastic year-round wildlife, as well as a chance of seeing the Great Migration between July and September and possibly November.

Northern Serengeti (Koga Tende)
The Serengeti is renowned for its exceptional wildlife viewing, and you'll experience this with two shared game drives each day from Lemala Kuria Hills.
Annually, over two million wildebeest and zebra undertake a dramatic migration from Serengeti National Park to the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. During their journey, they must navigate the treacherous Mara River, which separates the Serengeti on the Tanzanian side from the Masai Mara on the Kenyan side. The crossing is fraught with danger, as the herds face perilous currents and predators such as crocodiles lurking in the muddy waters, along with lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas patrolling the riverbanks. This migration period is especially hazardous for the wildebeest and zebras.
