Day 1

Maun to Moremi Game Reserve

Maun to Moremi Game Reserve

Your adventure begins at Maun International Airport where your safari guide will meet you. Your adventure will take you to Moremi Game Reserve, on the eastern edge of the Okavango Delta. Moremi Game Reserve is one of Africa’s most beautiful conservation areas —a vast area of lily-covered wetlands, sparkling floodplains, open grassland, and dappled forests.

You'll arrive at your campsite in Xakanaxa, one of the best locations in the Moremi, situated overlooking a grassy plain right next to the waters of the Okavango Delta. Your campsite will be ready with tents erected. Time to relax and enjoy nature in its purest form without any of the distractions of modern-day living.

Lunch will be served, followed by a game drive as you explore the surrounding wilderness. Expect to see a variety of animals including elephants, lions, leopards, hippos, zebras, antelopes, and numerous bird species. Each safari location offers unique sightings, providing a diverse wildlife viewing experience.

Day 2

Moremi Game Reserve

Moremi Game Reserve

Following an early breakfast, you will leave camp in search of the wide variety of wildlife and birds that this area is renowned for while absorbing the sounds and beauty of this region. After your morning game drive, you will return to camp for lunch and a siesta, followed by a late afternoon game drive as you continue your search for wildlife.

The range of habitats provides rich pickings for an impressive variety of resident wildlife and wildlife viewing. You can expect to see big herds of elephants and buffalos, all manner of antelopes and plains game, and a huge range of bird species. All the major predators are present in healthy numbers, and the reserve is Africa’s last stronghold for the highly endangered wild dog. Crocodiles are often seen sunning themselves on sandy riverbanks while hippos and fish eagles dominate the deep lagoons.

Day 3

Khwai Concession

Khwai Concession

Early in the morning, you'll pack up the camp and head to Khwai, stopping for a bush picnic lunch en route. The Khwai River forms the boundary between Moremi Game Reserve and the Khwai Concession.

You'll make your way to the African Excursions Guest House located in the Khwai Concession. You will stay in comfortable thatched chalets, complete with en suite bathrooms and a small private deck area.

You will also experience a 2½-hour mokoro trip, gliding through a maze of channels and lagoons in a traditional dug-out canoe. Khwai offers a wildlife-rich patchwork of lagoons, shallow flooded pans, open grasslands, and woodland forests. It’s most well-known for its abundant population of wild dogs, high concentrations of predators, and many other species. The birding is a wonderland with hundreds of different species just waiting to be discovered. You’ll see raptors like the African hawk-eagle and the gabar goshawk, and hornbills such as the southern yellow-billed and African grey.

Day 4

Savuti

Savuti

You'll head further north, stopping for a bush picnic lunch en route and spending one-night camping at a pristine bush campsite in the Savuti region, exploring the dry landscape on game drives. Savuti is part of Chobe National Park and lies south of the Chobe River Front.

You'll arrive at your campsite in Savuti. Your campsite will be ready with tents erected. You'll have time to relax and enjoy the natural beauty and abundant wildlife of this amazing area.

Known as one of the country’s most significant wildlife viewing areas, Savuti is famed for its predators, from leopards to the large lion pride who occasionally hunt elephants —behavior not generally witnessed elsewhere. You’ll also have the potential to see spotted hyenas, cheetahs, and more. There are also large herds of zebras and buffalos.
