Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After a short briefing on the safari itinerary and important guidelines for gorilla trekking, you will begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive will take approximately 8-10 hours, offering scenic views of the Ugandan countryside, terraced hills, and local villages. You'll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant en route and arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon. You'll check in and relax after the long drive. Your overnight stay will be in Bakiga Lodge/Gorilla Valley Lodge.

Gorilla Trekking Adventure

You'll enjoy an early breakfast to fuel up for the day’s adventure. You'll head to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing on the trekking procedures, safety measures, and the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. You'll embark on a guided trek into the dense forest in search of a gorilla family. The trek can last anywhere from 2 to 8 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. You'll enjoy the breathtaking experience of observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat for up to one hour. Carry a packed lunch to enjoy during the trek. You will trek back to the park headquarters and return to your lodge for relaxation.

Community Walk (Optional): You'll visit a nearby Batwa community to learn about their traditional lifestyle and culture.

Departure

You'll enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge. You'll check out from the lodge and begin your journey back to Entebbe. You will enjoy the scenic drive back, with potential stops for photo opportunities and a lunch break en route. You'll arrive in Entebbe in the late afternoon.
