You will drive to Arusha National Park for a full day tour, including a walk on the slopes of Mount Meru. Arusha National Park is a beautiful, green park year-round and includes part of Mount Meru, the second-highest peak in Africa (after Kilimanjaro). It is home to many bird species, including flamingos, as well as numerous herbivores. Later, you’ll drive to Tarangire for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 3

Tarangire National Park

You will check out and drive to Tarangire National Park for a half-day game drive. The park is known for its abundance of ancient baobab trees—the largest trees on the continent—that fill the landscape and dwarf the animals nearby. The park’s river attracts a wide range of wildlife, from numerous bird species to lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and, of course, elephants, earning it the name "Elephant Paradise." Tarangire has the largest concentration of elephants in the country and provides unique opportunities to observe interactions between elephant families. Dinner and your overnight stay will follow the game drive.

After an early breakfast, you will check out from the lodge and drive to Ngorongoro Crater with a game drive en route. Ngorongoro is one of the most stunning places on earth. After a game drive on the crater floor, you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch near the beautiful Hippo Lake. Following lunch, we’ll have time for another game drive before continuing to Serengeti National Park for dinner and your overnight stay.

After breakfast, you’ll enjoy a full-day game drive in the Central Serengeti—an unforgettable experience, especially for first-time visitors. As you venture deeper into the Serengeti, you’ll understand why its name means "endless plains" in the local language. Covering 6,900 square miles (18,000 sq. km), the plains stretch to the horizon, challenging your sense of distance.

The Serengeti is home to the Great Migration, where over two million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and various antelopes, including impalas and Thomson's gazelles, roam. This is also prime territory to spot lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. Smaller animals like foxes, mongooses, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, rock hyraxes, and African hares, as well as over 500 species of birds, call the park home as well. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the camp.

After an early breakfast, you will set out to make the most of the day, with a chance to witness the animals crossing the Mara River. Hundreds of thousands of wildebeests gather at the riverbank, gazing across the turbulent water at the green grass on the other side, but no animal dares to move. It only takes one brave wildebeest to take the plunge, and then they all follow! Those that successfully avoid the waiting crocodiles and cross the river are rewarded with the lush green grazing grass of the Masai Mara.

The Ngorongoro Crater features a rich variety of wildlife, and nearby local villages provide a glimpse into Maasai culture. Dinner and your overnight stay will be in Karatu.
