Day 2
Golden Monkey Tracking & Transfer to Bwindi Forest
Golden Monkey Tracking & Transfer to Bwindi Forest
Following an early breakfast, we’ll set off for the visitor center to participate in an informative briefing led by park rangers. You'll learn essential guidelines for tracking golden monkeys.
Once the briefing is complete, we’ll journey into the lush jungle, accompanied by experienced trackers who know this serene tropical rainforest well. When the golden monkeys are located, you’ll enjoy a magical hour spent observing them up close, gaining insights into their behavior, social structures, and the conservation efforts in place to protect these incredible creatures.
After our golden monkey experience, we’ll transfer to the Rwanda-Uganda border, continuing our drive to Bwindi for your gorilla tracking experience. Enjoy dinner and spend the night on the edge of the forest, surrounded by nature. (Please note that your accommodation for the night will depend on where your gorilla permits have been purchased or where you’ll be tracking gorillas.).

Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After an early breakfast at 7:00 AM, we’ll embark on a short drive to the UWA briefing center. Here, you’ll receive important insights on the dos and don’ts of gorilla tracking. Once you’ve been assigned to a gorilla family in a small group of eight, our knowledgeable armed ranger guides will lead you into the forest in search of these magnificent creatures.
Upon locating a gorilla family, you’ll enjoy a full hour of observing them in their natural habitat, maintaining a respectful distance of 7-10 meters. Witness their daily activities and learn about their fascinating behaviors.
After an exhilarating gorilla tracking experience, we’ll drive to the stunning Lake Bunyonyi, where you’ll spend the night on the scenic terraces overlooking the lake. Relax and savor a delicious dinner as you unwind in this beautiful setting.

After a leisurely breakfast, you will be check out and be escorted back to vehicles by boat to be transferred back to Kigali where you will have lunch and continue to the airport or your preferred location.
