Today we are going on an afternoon game drive in an amazing landscape. Nine dormant and one active volcano may be seen in the distance. The soil here was formed in the past by ash that blew in this direction. The actual Ndutu is split between the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Serengeti. There are resident lion, cheetah, and hyena populations here in addition to lesser-spotted animals like aardvarks, porcupines, and civet cats.
