Day 1

Arusha to Ndutu Area

Arusha to Ndutu Area

Today's journey spans approximately 280 kilometers, with an estimated duration of around 5 hours. During our game drive in Ndutu this afternoon, we'll witness firsthand the significance of this area, characterized by its nitrogen-rich grasslands cherished by the local animal populace. Both resident and migratory wildlife thrive in this season, showcasing the area's biodiversity and ecological importance.
Today we are going on an afternoon game drive in an amazing landscape. Nine dormant and one active volcano may be seen in the distance. The soil here was formed in the past by ash that blew in this direction. The actual Ndutu is split between the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Serengeti. There are resident lion, cheetah, and hyena populations here in addition to lesser-spotted animals like aardvarks, porcupines, and civet cats.

During game drives at the right season between December and April, you will be able to see the fertile plains turn into calving grounds and nurseries for the great migration. This season attracts hordes of predators preying on vulnerable young wildebeest. Watching the circle of life take its course will be an unforgettable experience etched for life.
