Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, we will set off for Tarangire National Park. Located in Tanzania's northern circuit, this stunning park is renowned for its towering baobab trees and impressive herds of elephants.

The name "Tarangire" comes from the Mbugwe tribe, where "Tara" means river and "ngire" translates to warthog—hence, it’s known as the "river of warthogs."

As you explore Tarangire, you'll have the chance to encounter a variety of wildlife, including lions, leopards, hippos, zebras, antelopes, and gazelles. Majestic giraffes can often be seen browsing on the tall thorny trees, alongside buffalo and wildebeest. For birdwatching enthusiasts, the park is home to beautiful species such as crested francolins, yellow-necked sparrows, and steppe eagles.

Lunch will be enjoyed within the park, and after more game viewing, we will drive directly to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Karatu to Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast at your lodge, we will set off for Ngorongoro Crater, located within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This remarkable caldera is approximately 600 meters deep and spans about 20 kilometers in diameter, making it the world’s largest unbroken caldera, home to over 25,000 mammals.

Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site and geo-park, Ngorongoro Crater is teeming with wildlife. Here, you can expect to see lions, buffalo, hyenas, wildebeest, zebras, impalas, gazelles, hippos, and the critically endangered black rhino. The crater is also a haven for birdwatchers, boasting over 500 bird species, including Hamerkops, Augur Buzzards, flamingos, and the vibrant superb starling.

Lunch will be served at the hippo pool, providing a picturesque setting to relax before we continue our journey to Serengeti National Park. In the evening, you’ll arrive at your lodge for dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Day 3

Full day in Serengeti National Park

Full day in Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we’ll embark on an early game drive in Serengeti National Park. The name "Serengeti" comes from the Maasai word for "endless plain" and the park spans approximately 14,763 square kilometers—larger than Connecticut! This makes it one of the most remarkable national parks on the continent.

The Serengeti is home to all of the Big Five: lions, leopards, buffalo, elephants and the endangered black rhino. You’ll encounter a variety of predators including hyenas, wild dogs and cheetahs as they roam the lush savannah

As we explore keep an eye out for these predators hunting prey such as zebras, elands, and antelopes. You’ll also see majestic giraffes reaching for the tall acacia trees. Along the Grumeti and Mara rivers, crocodiles bask in the sun while hippos can be spotted in the nearby waters.

Lunch will be served inside the park after which we’ll continue our game drive until the evening. We’ll then drive to your accommodation for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

In the early morning, we’ll enjoy a hearty breakfast before embarking on our final game drive in Serengeti National Park. The opportunities for wildlife viewing here are truly exceptional.

Lunch will be served within the park, allowing you to savor the surroundings one last time. After lunch, we’ll drive directly to your luxury accommodation in Karatu for some well-deserved relaxation, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, we’ll head directly to Lake Manyara National Park, one of Tanzania’s most captivating national parks. A significant portion of the park is covered by Lake Manyara, a shallow alkaline body of water that attracts a rich variety of wildlife and birdlife. Here, you can witness thousands of flamingos gracefully lining the shores, creating a stunning spectacle.

Lake Manyara is often regarded as a birdwatcher's paradise, boasting over 500 species of both resident and migratory birds. As you explore the park, you’ll have the chance to see elephants, buffalo roaming the woodlands, and the tall, majestic giraffes that grace the acacia-dotted plains. The park is also famous for its unique tree-climbing lions, along with warthogs, impalas, gazelles, Klipspringers, and both lesser and greater flamingos adorning the lake’s edges.

After a delicious lunch and an exciting game drive, we will drive straight back to Arusha.
