2 travelers on Start dateOften called the eighth natural wonder of the world, the Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact volcanic crater on Earth. About 2 million years ago, the Ngorongoro volcano erupted, causing its walls to collapse and the crater floor to sink, forming a natural enclosure with 600-meter-tall walls. Now, spanning over 19 kilometers, the crater is home to diverse habitats, including acacia forests, hippo-filled swamps, and open grasslands. These environments support over 30,000 animals, such as elephants, warthogs, flamingoes, a variety of bird species, the rare black rhinoceros, and all major predators. The Maasai people can also be seen grazing their cattle alongside buffalo and wildebeest.
The day will begin very early in the morning with a pick up in Arusha at a clients disclosed location. Our guide will arrive with picnic lunches which you will enjoy sometime in the crater at a set picnic site. You will resume back to Arusha in the evening for drop off.
