Arusha to Tarangire National Park

You’ll begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Arusha or Kilimanjaro/Arusha Airport, followed by a scenic three-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Once you arrive, you’ll enjoy a full day of game driving, complete with a delicious hot lunch in the park. Later, you’ll head to Fanaka Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Tarangire is renowned for its impressive herds of up to 300 elephants that gather at the waterless riverbeds in search of alternative water sources. Here, you can also spot nomadic wildebeest, zebras, buffalo, impalas, gazelles, hartebeests, and elands congregating around dwindling lagoons. This park boasts one of the highest concentrations of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem, making it a haven for predators. Notably, Tarangire is the only place in Tanzania where you can regularly see dry-country antelope, such as the striking fringe-eared oryx and the unique long-necked gerenuk.
