Your adventure begins as you depart from the bustling city of Nairobi and journey to the iconic Masai Mara National Reserve, arguably the most famous wildlife reserve in Africa. After an early breakfast, you will be picked up by your professional safari guide and driver, who will brief you on the adventure ahead. The drive to Masai Mara takes approximately 5-6 hours, offering stunning views of Kenya’s rural landscapes, including the Great Rift Valley escarpments and rolling highlands.
Upon arrival in Masai Mara, you will check into your safari lodge or camp, where you’ll have lunch and some time to relax. In the late afternoon, embark on your first game drive across the expansive Mara plains. As the sun sets over the savannah, you’ll have the chance to see lions, elephants, cheetahs, buffaloes, and potentially the elusive leopard.

Today is dedicated to a full day of game viewing in the legendary Masai Mara National Reserve. You will set out early in the morning for a sunrise game drive, the best time to witness wildlife as predators are on the hunt and herbivores graze in the cool of the day. Your guide will take you to different areas of the reserve, maximizing your chances of seeing the Big Five—lion, elephant, leopard, rhinoceros, and buffalo—as well as other wildlife species.

Masai Mara is also known for its prolific birdlife, with over 450 bird species, including Secretary birds, Kori bustards, vultures, and African fish eagles. The Mara River is another highlight, where crocodiles and hippos thrive. If your visit coincides with the Great Migration, you might witness thousands of wildebeests and zebras battling their way through the river, a dramatic event as predators like crocodiles and lions wait to strike.

Masai Mara – Lake Naivasha

After a hearty breakfast, you’ll bid farewell to the Masai Mara and begin your journey to Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake located in the heart of the Great Rift Valley. The drive is approximately 5 hours, taking you through picturesque landscapes and small Kenyan towns. Upon arrival at Lake Naivasha, you’ll check into your lodge and enjoy a delicious lunch overlooking the lake’s tranquil waters.

In the afternoon, embark on a serene boat ride on Lake Naivasha, where you’ll have the chance to spot hippos, waterbucks, and a variety of bird species, including the iconic African fish eagle. Lake Naivasha is a haven for bird enthusiasts, with over 300 species recorded, including kingfishers, pelicans, and herons. This morning, after breakfast, you’ll head towards Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its stunning views and large flocks of flamingos that gather along the shores of Lake Nakuru. The drive takes approximately 2 hours, and upon arrival, you’ll check into your lodge or camp located inside the park.

Lake Nakuru National Park is a birdwatcher's paradise, with over 400 species recorded. Apart from the iconic flamingos, you can expect to see pelicans, cormorants, and various other waterbirds. Today, you’ll enjoy a full day exploring Amboseli National Park, starting with an early morning game drive.
