Your island adventure begins in the capital city of Madagascar, Antananarivo, often referred to as Tana by travelers. Today, you have a flexible schedule to relax, settle in, or explore the city's rich architectural history.

Upon your arrival at the airport, our guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. If you arrive early, please get in touch with us at Fosa Travel for recommendations on attractions in town.

Day 2

Antananarivo to Andasibe

Antananarivo to Andasibe

On day two, we will head east, allowing you to immerse yourself in the island's vibrant wildlife. At the Peyrieras Madagascar Exotic Reserve, you will get a close look at various creatures, including chameleons, lizards, frogs, snakes, butterflies, and sifaka lemurs.

Next, we will travel further to Andasibe, a world-renowned paradise for observing lemurs, where you can see even more species, such as the indri and ring-tailed lemurs.

In the afternoon, we will visit Parc Mitsinjo, home to chameleons, snakes, birds, and—most importantly—the largest lemur species, the indri.

As night falls, your inner explorer can truly come alive during a hike through the forest. This is a fantastic opportunity to glimpse nocturnal lemurs and other nighttime wildlife.

Day 3

Andasibe-Mantadia National Park

Andasibe-Mantadia National Park

It is impossible to see everything in just one day, so plan to spend additional hours exploring Andasibe-Mantadia National Park on the third day. You will encounter unique, rare, and endangered species, including eleven different types of lemurs.

The wildlife adventure continues in the afternoon with a visit to Lemurs Island and Crocodile Park. Here, you can walk among flora and fauna found nowhere else on Earth.

Day 4

Andasibe to Antsirabe

Andasibe to Antsirabe

After spending a few days in nature, the fourth day combines travel and touring. We will depart from Andasibe early in the morning and head inland for 7.5 hours through beautiful highlands and valleys to the vibrant city of Antsirabe. The French called it The City of Water due to its thermal springs.

Upon arrival, you can explore the city's top attractions using Madagascar’s iconic rickshaws.

Day 5

Antsirabe to Morondava

Antsirabe to Morondava

Famous for its river delta and especially its baobab trees, our next excursion will take us to Morondava on the west coast of Madagascar.

We will depart early in the morning for a 10-hour drive. Along the way, we will stop for lunch in Miandrivazo, the hottest place in Madagascar!

Morondava

On the morning of the sixth day, we will sail through the mangroves down the river delta of Morondava and visit a fishing village. This visit will allow us to connect with the locals and learn more about their lives and culture.

In the afternoon, you can explore the picturesque tree-lined Baobab Avenue and enjoy the sunset along the coastal horizon.

Day 7

After a restful night's sleep at one of Morondava's cozy hotels, our tour will return to Antsirabe on the seventh day. The journey takes approximately 10 hours, during which you can enjoy views of the landscape, from the seaside to the highlands, through the window of the air-conditioned bus. Upon arrival, the evening of day seven is reserved for relaxation, so settle into your comfortable hotel in Antsirabe.

Day 8

The final leg of our journey takes us back to the city where it all began. After a 3.5-hour drive through the beautiful, rolling central highlands, we will spend the day exploring Antananarivo's famous sites. Highlights of the eighth day include a tour of the Queen's Palace, Anosy Lake, and the markets and French colonial buildings along Independence Avenue.

While the island is full of natural beauty, we also have a special tour that connects you to Antananarivo's architecture and history at the town's oldest train station, Gare Soarano.
