Today, after meeting your driver, you'll set off for Tarangire National Park, about a 2-hour drive away. Your adventure begins right away as you embark on your first safari! This special tour offers the chance to witness large herds of elephants, various prides of lions, and much more. A delicious lunch will be provided during the day, and your safari will continue afterward. In the evening, you’ll be transferred to a budget lodge in Mto wa Mbu for an overnight stay.

Ngorongoro crater
To make the most of this day, it’s best to leave the hotel early to catch the wildlife active in the morning hours. You'll enjoy both breakfast and lunch within the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, known as the "8th Natural Wonder of the World."
At 6:30 am, you’ll head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, arriving inside the crater in about an hour. Ngorongoro is one of Tanzania's most remarkable parks, home to the highest density of wildlife species per square kilometer. Here, you’ll have the chance to spot buffalo, elephants, lions, wildebeest, zebras, hippos, and elusive feline species like caracals and servals. You’ll also get the rare opportunity to see the endangered black rhinos that call this sanctuary home.
By lunchtime, you'll reach the picnic site, where a meal will be served before continuing your safari. In the evening, you’ll complete the game drive and transfer to Arusha for an overnight stay.

Kilimanjaro hiking
The day trip to Mt Kilimanjaro starts around 5 from Arusha (or even earlier to avoid traffic). Depending on the location of your hotel, the journey will be from 1:30-2.30 pm. From here, you’ll depart with your guide after an early breakfast to start the drive to Kilimanjaro National Park and begin the Kilimanjaro day hike.
The Kilimanjaro day hike takes you up to the vast Shira Plateau, at 3600 m. A 500,000-year-old volcanic caldera that is now a World Heritage Site. You can stop for lunch here, or continue to Shira 1 Camp, Lion Gorge, and the foothills of the Shira Pinnacles. Kilimanjaro’s iconic snow-covered tabletop, Kibo Peak, should be visible from here, as well as neighboring glaciers.
