Arrival in Kigali and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

On your arrival in Kigali, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to Volcanoes National Park (about a 2.5-3 hour drive). The journey is scenic, taking you through rolling hills and picturesque Rwandan countryside. Upon arrival at the park, check into Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, where you'll have dinner and relax for the evening. The lodge, located close to the park, provides comfortable accommodation and a perfect base for the adventures ahead. You will also have the option to visit the Iby'Iwacu Cultural Village for an insightful cultural experience in the evening before a restful night at the lodge.

Golden Monkey Trekking & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Uganda)

After breakfast, you’ll head out for your Golden Monkey trekking adventure in Volcanoes National Park. This trek offers a chance to observe the playful and fascinating behavior of the Golden Monkeys as they live among the bamboo forests. After the trek, you’ll return to the lodge for a well-deserved lunch before embarking on your transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda (approximately 4-5 hours). Once you arrive, check into Bakiga Lodge (or similar), which is located just outside the park. Enjoy dinner and rest for the night in preparation for the following day's thrilling gorilla trek.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 3 begins with an early breakfast and an exciting gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After a briefing, you'll embark on a trek through the dense forest in search of mountain gorillas. The trek can be challenging, but encountering these majestic creatures in their natural habitat makes it one of the most rewarding wildlife experiences. After spending an hour with the gorillas, you’ll return to Bakiga Lodge for lunch and an afternoon of relaxation. In the evening, there’s the option to take a cultural walk to visit the Batwa communities and learn about their rich history and traditions. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Transfer to Kibale national park for chimpanzee trekking

Get up early for breakfast, then walk a short distance from your resort to the park headquarters, where the park ranger will brief you before the 8:30 am start of the gorilla trek. Although monitoring gorillas is a demanding activity, it is considered the most gratifying wildlife encounter. Depending on how they roam through the bush, it can take anything from one to several hours to come across these apes.

Transfer back to Entebbe

On the final day, you’ll have breakfast at the lodge before starting your return journey to Entebbe (about 7-8 hours), or Kigali if you’re flying out of Rwanda. During the drive, you’ll have time to reflect on your unforgettable wildlife experiences. A lunch stop will be made en route, and then you’ll be dropped off at Entebbe International Airport or Kigali International Airport for your departure. This concludes your amazing 5-day safari adventure, filled with breathtaking wildlife encounters and memories to last a lifetime.
