Day 5

Serengeti National Park (Central) to Lake Eyasi

Serengeti National Park (Central) to Lake Eyasi

Breakfast: at the camp

The Serengeti is truly spectacular. It is famous for its vast open grasslands, which allow excellent wildlife sightings. The Serengeti’s climate and vegetation have remained largely untouched for millions of years. While it boasts abundant wildlife, it is perhaps best known for its annual great migration. Vast numbers of wildebeest, accompanied by large numbers of zebra and antelope, move in an annual pattern, constantly seeking fresh grazing.

The migration can be found during any given month; you just need to know where to look! The question should really be about the “best places” to see the animals during a certain time of year. In addition to the iconic landscapes, you have a good chance of encountering predators, and you may see lion, cheetah and leopard. It is a truly life-changing experience.

Lunch: We will enjoy a picnic lunch in the park.

In the afternoon, you will start your journey to Lake Eyasi. Hopefully, you had a great time in the Serengeti.

Lake Eyasi (Bushmen) to Arusha

Wake up call: Tea & Coffee

A day in the old days, where we’ll immerse ourselves in the ancient traditions of the Hadzabe and Datoga people. We’ll start by visiting the Hadzabe, also known as the Bushmen of Lake Eyasi, renowned for their hunter-gatherer lifestyle. In their arid landscape of savanna woodland, we’ll explore Hadzabe hiding caves, join in fruit gathering and wild honey collection, and test our skills with their traditional bow and arrow. If luck is on our side, we might even witness a successful hunt, with the hunters sharing the meat among themselves and taking some home for their families.
In the mid-morning we’ll venture to another tour, the Datooga or Barbaig people. Visiting one of their villages, we’ll be awed by the intricate blacksmith works of the Datoga males, created from discarded metals
