Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport, a Maramatta Safaris representative will welcome you and transfer you to your accommodation in Arusha for an overnight stay, giving you time to rest and recharge before the adventures that await the next day.

Day 2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast at 8:00 AM, you’ll receive a short briefing before departing for Tarangire National Park. Known for its baobab trees and seasonal marshes, the park is home to the largest elephant population in northern Tanzania, as well as giraffes, buffaloes, lions, zebras, and various antelope. A hot lunch will be served in the afternoon at a picnic site, after which you’ll continue exploring the park. In the evening, you’ll head to your accommodation in Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3

Karatu to Ndutu Region

Karatu to Ndutu Region

Your safari begins at 8 AM with a pickup from your hotel in Karatu, heading toward the Ndutu region. Soon after, you'll enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where the landscape shifts from hilly forests to expansive grasslands. Upon arriving in Ndutu, you'll embark on a half-day game drive with a stop for a picnic lunch. This area is a key part of the annual migration route for over 2 million wildebeest, zebras, antelopes, and gazelles. From December to April, the plains serve as calving grounds, attracting numerous predators. After your game drive, you'll proceed to your accommodation for dinner.

Day 4

Game Drive in Ndutu

Game Drive in Ndutu

After having your breakfast, you'll have another chance to witness this remarkable wildlife event in the Ndutu region, which spans both Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before setting off on a full-day game drive, tracking the migration with a packed lunch in hand.

From December to April, the plains serve as calving grounds, drawing in numerous predators. The game drive will conclude around 5:00 PM, after which you'll return to your accommodation for dinner and relaxation, ready for the next day's adventure.

Day 5

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, stopping at a scenic viewpoint overlooking the Ngorongoro Crater before descending into it. This massive volcanic caldera, the largest intact one in the world, covers 265 square kilometers with 600-meter-high walls and supports a diverse population of about 30,000 mammals.

With its breathtaking landscape, the crater is one of the top spots in East Africa to observe the “Big Five” (elephant, rhinoceros, buffalo, lion, and occasionally leopard). Following a picnic lunch, the game drive will continue until late afternoon, after which you'll ascend the crater and travel to Karatu for an overnight stay.

Day 6

Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha

Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha

After an early breakfast, you'll set off for Lake Manyara National Park, renowned for its tree-climbing lions and rich birdlife, with over 500 species found here. First-time visitors can expect to see around 100 species in a single day. The park’s acacia woodlands are home to these unique lions as well as large elephants, giraffes, zebras, hyenas, buffalo, hippos, and wildebeest.
Lunch will be enjoyed within the park, and after further exploration, you’ll head back to Arusha or to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
