Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds, often seen near the river, along with giraffes, bushbuck, and hartebeest. Predators like lions and leopards are commonly spotted as well. Serengeti National Park To Ndutu
A safari in the Southern Serengeti offers a front-row seat to the Great Migration, with daily game drives showcasing this remarkable wildlife spectacle. In the early months of the year, you can witness newborn wildebeest taking their first steps on the lush green plains, while later in the season, vast herds move northward toward the Masai Mara. The Southern Serengeti is one of the few places where you can experience the full cycle of the Great Migration—herds returning in December with the rains, calves being born in January and February, and the departure as the grass dries toward the end of the rainy season.
Due to the seasonal nature of wildlife viewing, the region has a limited number of permanent lodges and just one permanent tented camp. However, there are several mobile camps, ranging from budget-friendly to luxury, which open during the migration months.

The marshes are a favourite spot for big cats raising their young, while the short grass plains are where wildebeest give birth during the Great Migration. As evening falls, relax with a drink, sharing stories at the bar before returning to your cottage, where the distant call of hyenas sets the tone for a peaceful, tsetse-free night.
