Depart from the Nairobi airport or hotel at 7:00 am and head to Amboseli National Park, which lies in the shadow of Mt Kilimanjaro, Africa's tallest mountain. Amboseli's landscape includes plains, woodlands, rocky thorn bushes, swamps, and marshes. The park is sustained by an abundant underground water supply, filtered through volcanic rock from Kilimanjaro's ice cap, emerging in the park as two clear water springs and swamps. After check-in, savor lunch and embark on an afternoon game drive to spot wildlife such as leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, hyraxes, dik-diks, lesser kudus, porcupines, and a plethora of bird species. After breakfast, check out and set off for another scenic drive to Tsavo East National Park. This park is drier than Tsavo West, featuring sparse bushland and striking rock formations like the 1.6 km long Mudanda Rock. The magnificent Yatta Plateau, the world's longest lava flow at approximately 290 km, cascades into the park. The Galana River, with its series of rapids known as Lugards Falls, snakes through the landscape. The Athi River, originating from Nairobi, also courses through the park. Post-lunch, embark on an afternoon game drive to spot various wild animals, including buffalo, lions, leopards, hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, Lesser kudu, gerenuk, and hirola antelopes, among the park's 500+ bird species.
