Karatu to Tarangire National Park

Karatu to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, head to Tarangire National Park, which is called after the Tarangire River that runs through it. Known as the 'river of warthogs,' it is the main water source for wildlife during the dry season. The park's features are diverse, ranging from dense vegetation such as elephant grass and acacia woodlands to beautiful groundwater forests. Tarangire is well-known for its vast elephant herds, which frequently congregate near the river alongside giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests. Lions and leopards are among the predators that prowl these territories. The park is home to an astounding array of bird species, making it an ideal location for bird enthusiasts.

The park is dotted with ancient baobab trees, some of which are over 200 years old. In the late afternoon, take a vehicle journey back to Arusha, where you can continue your holiday plan.
