½-Day Mabamba Shoebill Tour

This half-day trip begins with a transfer by our guide to Nakiwogo Landing Site, where you'll embark on a scenic boat ride across Lake Victoria to Mabamba Swamp. The boat journey offers beautiful views of the lake and its surroundings. Upon reaching the swamp, you’ll switch to a smaller canoe that navigates through the dense papyrus reeds, allowing you to explore the hidden channels of this unique wetland.

As you glide through the serene waters, you'll have the chance to spot the rare shoebill storks, often seen hunting for fish in the shallow waters. Along the way, you'll also encounter other bird species like the African jacanas, malachite kingfishers, and various egrets and herons. The entire experience, including transfers and the boat ride, typically lasts around 3-4 hours, offering an intimate and unforgettable encounter with Uganda’s rich birdlife.
