Begin your journey with a scenic drive from Kampala or Entebbe to Kibale Forest National Park, known as the primate capital of the world. The drive takes about 5-6 hours, offering stunning views of Uganda's countryside, tea plantations, and villages. Stop for lunch en route, possibly in Fort Portal, a vibrant town near Kibale.
Arrive in Kibale Forest National Park and check into your lodge. Relax and enjoy the beautiful forest surroundings in preparation for your chimpanzee trekking the next day.

Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Community Walk

After an early breakfast, head out for an exciting chimpanzee trekking experience. Accompanied by expert guides, you’ll trek through the dense rainforest, home to around 13 species of primates. The highlight will be observing the lively and social chimpanzees in their natural habitat. Return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided Bigodi Swamp Walk. This community-run project offers a chance to see more primates, birds, and small mammals, while also interacting with the local people and learning about their culture.

After breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its mountain gorillas. The drive takes about 6-8 hours, passing through scenic landscapes, including terraced hills, banana plantations, and remote villages. En route or packed lunch. Arrive in Bwindi in the late afternoon and check into your lodge near the gorilla trekking starting point. Rest up for the gorilla trekking experience the following day.

Spend the afternoon at leisure, reflecting on your extraordinary gorilla trekking adventure. You may also explore the local community or take nature walks (optional).
