Day 2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Today, your safari adventure begins with Kerata Wild Safaris. You will be picked up at your hotel and depart for Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch for a full-day game drive. Tarangire National Park is Tanzania’s third largest national park, and it is known for its majestic baobab trees that dot the landscape, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. The Tarangire River is the centrepiece of this park, which is famous for having some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa. Here, you may see lion, leopard, cheetah, kudu, buffalo, giraffe and zebra. After the game drive, you will return to your lodge where a delicious dinner awaits.

Following a delicious breakfast, you'll bid farewell to Tarangire and set out for the legendary Serengeti National Park. The journey will take you through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area, offering glimpses of Tanzania's stunning landscapes and wildlife. Upon reaching the Serengeti, you'll embark on your game drive, immersing yourself in the endless plains and abundant wildlife. Keep your camera ready as you might encounter lions, cheetahs, and herds of wildebeests and zebras traversing the grasslands.

On this day, you will engage in a full day of exploring the wonders of the Serengeti. After breakfast, you'll embark on morning and afternoon game drives, maximizing your chances of encountering the park's diverse wildlife. Whether witnessing the great migration (seasonal) or observing predators in action, the Serengeti never fails to captivate with its natural beauty and wildlife spectacles. You'll have ample opportunities to photograph the iconic landscapes dotted with acacia trees and rocky outcrops, often serving as vantage points for wildlife sightings. After a leisurely breakfast, it's time to bid farewell to the Serengeti as you make your way towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. En route, you'll enjoy a scenic drive through the Serengeti, with opportunities for wildlife sightings along the way. Upon entering the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you'll descend into the iconic Ngorongoro Crater, often described as an "African Eden". Here, amidst the breathtaking scenery, you'll encounter a remarkable concentration of wildlife, including the Big Five. Spend the day exploring the crater floor, where grasslands, forests, and a soda lake provide a haven for diverse species.

As the afternoon sun bathes the landscape in golden hues, you'll ascend from the crater and continue your journey to Karatu, where you'll spend the night.

Today, you will have an early start with a quick breakfast. After breakfast, you will start the safari at Lake Manyara National Park. It is a diverse and picturesque reserve known for its striking landscapes and abundant wildlife. Covering approximately 330 square kilometres, the park features a shallow, alkaline lake that attracts a wide array of bird species, including thousands of flamingos. The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, large elephant herds, and diverse habitats ranging from dense woodlands and grassy plains to hot springs. Lake Manyara provides excellent game viewing and birdwatching opportunities and is set against the stunning backdrop of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Break for a picnic lunch amidst nature before continuing your adventure.

After a rewarding day of exploration, you'll return to Arusha in the late afternoon, where you'll check into your accommodation for the night.
